FORNICATION & ADULTERY - 3

For better understanding, let's get the simple and English meaning of Fornication & adultery;

Fornication is consensual (voluntary) sexual intercourse between two people not married to each other.
When one or more of the partners having consensual sexual intercourse is a married person, it is called adultery.
Let's see what the bible says on this matter...
Hebrews 13:4 (NASB)
Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed is to be undefiled; for fornicators and adulterers God will judge.
1 Corinthians 6:18-20 ESV
Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.
1 Corinthians 7:2 ESV
But because of the temptation to sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband.
1 Corinthians 7:9 ESV
But if they cannot exercise self-control, they should marry. For it is better to marry than to burn with passion.
1 Thessalonians 4:3-4 ESV
For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each one of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor.
1 Corinthians 6:13
"Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body."
From the above...
1. Adultery and fornication are sexual immorality and we are to abstain from them.
2. We are to honour the institution of marriage and keep sex within the confine of marriage (between husband and wife).
3. Our body is not ours anymore for we have been bought with the BLOOD of JESUS, therefore, we are to honour/glorify God with our body.
4. We are to keep our body (our feelings) under control, in holiness and honour.
God help us all.

Forgiveness

When we do what is wrong, we need forgiveness to be set free of guilt and make peace with the one that we have offended. Same applies to when others offend us, we are to forgive them their offence against us. As humans, we think there are offences that are hard to forgive or cannot be forgiven but there is no offence too hard for God to forgive us, likewise God wants us to forgive anyone who offends us. Do you feel you have not sinned? Do you feel you have sinned and cannot be forgiven? Do you feel some has offended you and can never be forgiven? Let search God's Word together. The word of God below is an assurance that you can be forgiven; 1 John 1:8-10 New International Version If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him (God) out to be a liar and his word is not in us.

What are the consequences of LIES?
